The Kenya Tourism Board has formally launched its enhanced business events bid support programme — the most comprehensive national MICE facilitation package offered by any East African national tourism organisation. Under the programme, KTB will provide international conference organisers with comprehensive support including government letters of endorsement, venue shortlisting, delegate facilitation, promotional co-investment, and site inspection coordination — all at no cost to the event organiser.
KTB CEO June Chepkemei noted that the MICE sector represents Kenya's highest-value tourism growth opportunity — with international association meetings generating approximately three times the economic impact per delegate of leisure tourism. The programme launch coincides with KTB's formal application for ICCA enhanced member status, which would provide access to ICCA's database of 30,000+ rotating international association meetings for targeted bid development.
