Certification & Standards

Eight practice areas, open to certification

If you practise communication, creative arts, or mass media in Kenya, there's likely a certification pathway for you here.

Who counts as a practitioner

A media practitioner is anyone who "engages in or contributes to the practice of journalism or media work, including writing, editing or disseminating information to the public through print, broadcast, digital or other platforms."

This is the Bill's own definition — it explicitly includes digital platforms and non-journalist communication work, not just traditional reporters and editors.
