The body responsible for academic standards, curriculum, and quality assurance across every KSC department — including a seat reserved for elected student representation.

Role

Day-to-day academic governance

Where the Council sets institutional direction, the Academic Board oversees the specifics of teaching, curriculum, and assessment — including the standards behind Centre and Standards' certification function.

Statutory basis

The Board shall "oversee the development, implementation and quality assurance of academic programmes."

What the Board does

Core functions

Review academic programmes and curricula and report to the Council.

Propose criteria and guidelines for admission across all programmes.

Determine who has attained the prescribed standard for academic and certification awards.

Establish and uphold academic standards and policies to maintain quality and integrity.

Settle academic matters within the School and handle academic disputes.
