Wherever the Migration Is, Kenya

A camp that moves with the herds.

A light-footprint, fully private tented camp with your own staff and your own vehicle — following the Great Migration wherever it happens to lead, that season.

The Setting

The most spontaneous of the three.

Angama Safari Camp isn't fixed to a single view the way Mara or Amboseli are — it's a private tented camp that relocates with the Great Migration itself, set up wherever the herds happen to be moving through that particular week or month.

Everything about it is private: your own staff, your own guide and vehicle, your own patch of the Mara for the length of your stay. No other party shares the camp with you, and no two stays here look quite the same.

The Mess Tent

The camp's communal heart — dining, drinks, and the fire, all under one roof of canvas each evening.

Dining at the Safari Camp

Around the fire, wherever camp is.

Meals here are the most improvised of the three properties, in the best sense — a mess tent that moves with you, a fire that's lit fresh each night, and menus built around whatever the camp kitchen has been able to bring in that week.

Sundowners tend to happen wherever the day's drive ends, not on a fixed deck — often close enough to the herds that you can still hear them settling for the night.

Wildlife at the Safari Camp

As close to the Migration as it gets.

Because the camp itself relocates with the herds, guests get a front-row seat to the Great Migration's day-to-day movement — river crossings, predator activity, and the sheer scale of the herds, often without another vehicle in sight.

How a Mobile Camp Works

Three things that make this property different.

One

We track the herds first

Before your stay, our guides scout where the Migration is likely to be — then pitch camp accordingly, sometimes days ahead of your arrival.

Two

The camp is entirely yours

No shared common areas, no other guests booked alongside you — your staff, vehicle, and mess tent are set up for your party alone.

Three

Plans shift with the wildlife

If the herds move mid-stay, so might we. It's the most spontaneous of the three properties, by design.

From Guests at the Safari Camp

What it's like, in their words.

"Our camp manager remembered our daughter's name, and her fear of the dark, without being told twice. That's the whole of it, really."

J. Turner — Angama Safari Camp

"We fell asleep to wildebeest calling in the dark and woke up to a crossing happening less than a kilometre from camp. Nothing else compares."

K. & M. Sorensen — Angama Safari Camp

"It genuinely felt like our own private safari — no other vehicles, no fixed schedule, just us and the herds."

R. Whitcombe — Angama Safari Camp

"This was our third Angama stay and by far the most spontaneous. Worth doing after you've seen Mara or Amboseli first."

Getting to the Safari Camp

Because the camp's exact location depends on the Migration's movement that season, our reservations team will confirm your precise transfer once your dates are set.
