Waterbank Schools combine education with rainwater-harvesting infrastructure — giving students a functioning classroom, and the surrounding community a more reliable water source, in the same building.
Water scarcity is one of the most persistent challenges for communities living alongside Segera. Rather than fund a school and a water project separately, Waterbank Schools fold both into a single design — the classroom roof itself becomes the water-harvesting surface.
Rainwater collected from each roof is stored, filtered, and made available to the surrounding community — not just to students. It's a design choice consistent with everything else on this site: nothing here exists as a single-purpose gesture.
Each classroom's roof is designed specifically to funnel and store rainwater during the wet season.
Stored water is shared with the surrounding community, not reserved for school use alone.
Full-time classrooms, staffed by local teachers, serving students from the communities living alongside the conservancy.
Guests can arrange a visit through the Experiences page, with advance notice given directly to the school. Visits are scheduled around the students' own routine, not the other way around.
