Wildlife Impact Assessment: Lamu Port–South Sudan–Ethiopia Transport Corridor (LAPSSET)

WRTI conducted a comprehensive wildlife impact assessment for the proposed 1,600km LAPSSET transport corridor, including species distribution baseline surveys across five ecosystem zones, elephant movement analysis using WRTI's existing GPS tracking datasets, and GIS-based corridor impact modelling.

Forensic analysis of ivory and rhino horn seizures: population of origin and trafficking network analysis

WRTI's CITES-accredited forensics laboratory analysed genetic material from 847 ivory pieces seized across 12 seizure events, determining population of origin and providing evidence chains for 6 prosecutions.
