FAQ

Common Questions

Questions about partnership options, AHTSA membership, or employer collaboration?

Contact Partnerships Team →
How does a training institution join AHTSA?
+
Submit a partnership enquiry using the form on this page, selecting AHTSA Membership as the partnership type. Our partnerships team will respond within 48 hours. AHTSA membership requires an annual fee, a minimum quality standard, and agreement to the AHTSA charter. We will guide you through the application and quality review process.
How does an employer become a KUC partner?
+
Employer partnerships are formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) — a simple, non-binding document that establishes the nature of the relationship (internship placements, graduate recruitment, in-house training, or MDP enrolment). Submit an enquiry and our employer team will arrange a call to discuss the options.
What is the LIATH Conference and who can attend?
+
LIATH — Leading Innovation in African Tourism and Hospitality — is an annual peer-reviewed conference hosted by KUC in Nairobi. It is open to researchers, educators, and industry practitioners. AHTSA member schools receive preferential rates. Paper submissions are welcome from anyone working in hospitality, tourism, or aviation research or education.
Can an institution outside Africa join AHTSA?
+
Yes. AHTSA has associate membership categories for institutions outside Sub-Saharan Africa — including schools in North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Associate members participate in the LIATH Conference and have access to the AHTSA curriculum library but do not vote in Council elections. Contact us for the associate membership criteria.
How do we formalise an international body partnership or MOU?
+
Submit an enquiry describing the nature of the proposed collaboration. Our partnerships team will work with you to define the scope and draft an MOU. KUC has existing MOU templates for research collaboration, curriculum co-development, and co-delivery arrangements that can be adapted to your requirements.
