A membership your whole family will actually use
Golf for you, the pool for the kids, dinner for everyone — one membership, not a card you forget in your wallet.
Everything you get, before we get into the process
One membership card unlocks almost everything the club is — not just the golf course.
An 18-hole course, whenever you want it
Unlimited member access to the championship course, discounted green fees for your guests, and priority entry to member tournaments and the Captain's Prize.
- Book online in seconds, so you're never stuck waiting on a phone call
- Preferred pro-shop rates, so equipment doesn't cost extra on top of membership
- Coaching for you, junior programmes for your kids
A club life beyond golf
Tennis, squash, swimming, bowling, and Imari Spa are all part of the membership — as much for your family as for you.
- Pool hours built around families, so it's not just adults doing laps
- Member rates at every dining venue on the property
- A full events calendar, so there's always a reason to come back
The path to membership
Karen's membership process is a considered one, built around proposal and balloting rather than an instant sign-up — here is what that actually involves.
Find a proposer and seconder
Every application starts with two existing members — a proposer and seconder who can speak to your interest. Don't know two members yet? Our membership office will help make the introduction.
Submit your application
Your proposer and seconder submit your application to the membership office, along with the standard supporting documentation.
Balloting
Applications are considered by the membership committee at the next scheduled ballot. This is the club's long-standing way of admitting new members thoughtfully, rather than a formality to rush through.
Welcome to Karen
Once approved, you'll receive your membership pack, a tour of the grounds, and your login for the member portal — tee times, dining, and spa bookings, all in one place.
Find the category that fits your life
Karen offers a small number of membership categories, reflecting how differently members actually use the club.
Ordinary Membership
Subscription tier: Standard
Full access to every club facility, member events, and voting rights within the club — the standard category for members based in and around Nairobi.
- Unlimited golf course access
- Full sports & wellness access
- Voting rights at club AGMs
Country Membership
Subscription tier: Reduced
Designed for members who live outside Nairobi and visit the club less frequently, with the same access whenever you're in town.
- Full facility access on each visit
- Reduced annual commitment
- Priority booking when visiting
Young Members
Subscription tier: Entry
A category for younger professionals building their own relationship with the club, often ahead of starting a family membership of their own.
- Full facility access
- Golf coaching & junior programme eligibility
- A natural path to full membership
Ordinary Membership carries the club's standard annual subscription; Country and Young Membership are offered at a reduced rate in recognition of lower or later-stage usage. Your exact subscription and joining fee are confirmed in writing by the membership office as part of your application.
Why members stay for decades, not years
"I joined at twenty-eight for the golf. Twenty years on, it's where my children learned to swim, and where I still play with the same three friends every Saturday."
"My proposer walked me through the whole balloting process before I even applied. It never felt bureaucratic — more like being properly introduced."
"We hold a family membership. My teenagers use the pool and tennis courts more than I use the course — which is exactly why we joined."
