Founded in 1937, still at home among the same hills
Karen Country Club was established on land shaped by the same coffee-estate history that gave the Karen suburb its name — the same countryside once described by Karen Blixen. Today the club remains a family-oriented institution, its championship course and indigenous forest little changed in character, even as the life around it has grown.
- Member of the Kenya Golf Union (K.G.U.) and Kenya Ladies Golf Union (K.L.G.U.)
- Long-standing host venue for the Barclays Kenya Open on the European Challenge Tour
- An ongoing wetlands conservation project recognised by the Kenya Wildlife Service
A working wetland, right on the grounds
Beyond the fairways, Karen Country Club maintains an indigenous forest and a wetlands conservation area that draws a wide variety of birdlife year-round — as much a part of the club's identity as the golf course itself, and a favourite backdrop for members walking the grounds or couples marrying beside it.

Reflections from members, guests, and event clients.
"My son played his first hole here before he could properly count. Three generations of our family have carried a Karen membership card — it's less a club to us than a second home."
"We married beside the Wetlands with the birdlife as our only soundtrack. Our guests still talk about how a garden that quiet could be twenty minutes from the city."
"I brought thirty delegates expecting a boardroom. What they got was a morning of golf, a proper lunch, and an afternoon of meetings nobody wanted to end early."
