About Vipingo Ridge

The land came first. Everything else was built around it.

A coastal estate on Kenya's Kilifi coast, integrating championship golf, hospitality, residential living, and conservation into a single, deliberately planned place.

Our Story

A masterplan, not a series of additions.

Vipingo Ridge began with a decision that shaped everything that followed: the wildlife sanctuary and marine reserve boundaries were set before a single fairway or foundation. Golf, hospitality, and residential precincts were designed to work around that constraint, not the other way round.

The Land

A masterplan built around conservation

Sanctuary and marine reserve boundaries were established first, with the estate's other uses designed around them.

The Course

Championship golf as proof of intent

PGA accreditation gave the estate an early, credible signal that this was built to a genuine international standard.

Residents who arrived as guests

PGA & LET Affiliated The PGA Baobab Course at Vipingo Ridge

PGA & Ladies European Tour Affiliation

An international standard, not a marketing claim.

The Baobab Course is accredited to PGA standard — the only course on the continent to carry that accreditation — and hosts an official Ladies European Tour qualifying event each season. Both affiliations require ongoing maintenance and operational standards, verified independently rather than self-certified.

Reflections from long-serving members of the estate team

"I started in housekeeping when the first villas opened. I now manage guest services for the whole hospitality team — that kind of progression isn't promised everywhere."

GN
Grace N.
Guest Services Manager

"I trained as a greenkeeper on this course. Maintaining a PGA-standard layout to that level, on the Kenyan coast, taught me things I couldn't have learned anywhere else in the region."

PM
Peter M.
Head Greenkeeper

"Ten years ago I was fishing these waters. Now I help run the reef restoration programme in the same waters, with Oceans Alive. It's the same coastline, a different relationship to it."

Kioko M.
Sanctuary Manager
