The 2026/27 membership renewal window opens on 1 August 2026. Your renewal will include:
- Annual subscription — KES 12,000
- Practising certificate fee — KES 8,000
You currently have 8 of 12 CPD credits. You may renew and complete the remaining credits before 31 December 2026.
The LSK Council has approved the revised Advocates (Remuneration) Order 2026, which takes effect on 1 September 2026. Key changes include:
- Updated minimum fee scales for High Court matters
- New fee bands for conveyancing based on transaction value
- Revised scale for employment tribunal representation
Advocates are reminded that charging below the prescribed minimum may constitute professional misconduct. The full Order is available on the LSK Knowledge Centre.

Circular 14/2026 sets out the updated referral procedures for the LSK Legal Aid Programme, effective 1 June 2026. Key updates include:
- New referral intake form (replaces the 2023 version)
- Updated partner organisation contacts in 12 counties
- Revised eligibility verification checklist
Advocates providing legal aid services must use the updated forms from 1 June 2026.

The LSK submission addresses three main areas of the proposed Legal Aid Amendment Bill 2026: eligibility thresholds for state-funded legal aid, county-level funding mechanisms, and the accreditation of legal aid service providers.
The full submission is available to all LSK members on the Knowledge Centre. Members who wish to provide feedback on LSK's position may write to policy@lsk.or.ke before 15 August 2026.
