Dr. Erustus Kanga has served as Director General of Kenya Wildlife Service since 2018. He holds a PhD in Wildlife Management from the University of Nairobi and has over 25 years of experience in conservation science, wildlife law enforcement, and ecosystem management across East Africa. Under his leadership, KWS has deployed AI-assisted anti-poaching systems, established the EarthRanger operations platform, and launched the KWSPay digital services infrastructure. He chairs Kenya's delegation to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) and represents Kenya at the African Elephant Coalition.
